hair stylist/colorist

hair rules new york is seeking stylists and colorists, dedicated to the craft of hairdressing. this position is full-time. hair rules new york provides an in-depth training program for stylists to further their education and enhance their creative eye while gain knowledge in all areas of hair care and hair styling for multiple textures.

responsibilities including, but not limited to:

maintaining a high level of customer service.
analyze customer's hair texture to determine and recommend appropriate services.
provide consistent professional hair treatments in accordance with hair rules' philosophy and hair care standards.
perform prep work and restock work area as required.
update and maintain customer records as services are performed.
keep station area/salon maintained and sanitized as instructed by management to meet sanitation and sterilization legal standards.
communicating the hair rules brand and product knowledge to clients with confidence.
closing all retail sales and monitoring strategic sampling and up-selling.
assisting in all areas of salon operation as requested by management.
regularly attending and participating in training and staff meetings.
maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

position requirements:

must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task and work independently.
ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
excellent communication, listening and computer skills.
must have a current, valid ny state cosmetology license.
minimum 2 years of prior experience and a current clientele.
ability to style multiple hair textures.
